Lockdowns, economic meltdowns, explosions… with these kinds of subject matters, one would expect heavy guitars and angry vocals. Yet, Spirals Spinning in My Head is all but that. As if drained and lobotomized by what’s happening around, the indie pop song explores these themes in a James Bond-esque luscious ambience, with a plethora of guitars and synths and a delicate almost distant vocals telling an unnerving tale.
lyrics
Fire is burning
And our hearts are yearning
Summer's too hot
Winter's been sold
Fear is abounding
Oh sovereignty of thoughts
We’re going nowhere
holed up as rats
The fire is burning
And our hearts are yearning
Again and again
Again till the end
The city's in flames
And our hearts are braised
No one is listening no
No one cares
Sprirals
spinning in our head
Spirals
Make us go why, why, wy?
Spirals
Stuffed as pigs
In their ivory tower
Somewhere or another
Looking down on us
Oh poor humans
Still stuck down there
Look at us, our masks have fallen
We’re up in the air, up in the air
Sprirals
spinning in our head
Spirals
Make us go why, why, why?
Spirals
